Today I am going to write a post about two educational tools, radio and television, and the impact that as a future teacher, I consider they have inside a classroom.
Among the different uses of radio, I would like to highlight the ability to bring education and culture to remote areas that have difficulties to acces in other ways, so it could be considered as a tool to combat illiteracy.
There are many benefits of the radio an TV in the educational field. Some of them are the adaptation of the message to the environment, the development of oral and written skills or the fact that they encourage the monitoring and interest of current news.
These tools also foster cooperative learning because they are collaborative media with different positions, so working in groups and responsabilities are shared. As a consequence, they allow debate and argumentation before, through and after the task.
In addition, students become creators and narrators that have different audiovisual media in order to transmit their stories. They also learn to value the role of the media in society, to recognize its importance and the need to contrast information seeking alternative resources.
