INSPIRING VIDEOS III
TED TALKS - EDUCATION
Hello readers!
Once again we are here with my Inspiring videos section. You
will find this is the most recurrent section of my page, but I already told you
why the first time, so you cannot blame me now. Today we will be talking about two
videos of the magnificent TED Talks. I guess you already know them, but if you
don’t I strongly recommend you check their page and YouTube channel. I will
attach the links for you below.
If you haven’t notice, I love TED Talks. I believe it is an awesome
platform for bright minds to share their experiences, ideas, methods, what they
have learnt, what they have found, how have they improved, how can society
improve, what works, what doesn’t, etc. This media organization gives voice to
those who can motivate others do better. It is an inspiring way to learn and
improve.
This time I will be focusing on what I am interested in, and
everybody should be as well, Education. As I said before education is not only
a matter of teachers and students it involves every last person of our society since
students are our present and future. Therefore, it is everybody’s duty to worry
about it.
However, today I will be showing you two videos about the importance
of not just being a teacher but a good one. The importance of not just teaching
but making a difference. These videos show how the behaviour of a teacher,
his/her attitude towards his/her students and the way he/she teaches his/her subjects
can change the whole system and students’
motivation.
The first video features Rita Pierson, a teacher for 40 years. She talks about how necessary is for educators
to believe in their students and actually connect with them on a real, human,
personal level.

The second shows Joe Ruhl, a teacher who has 37 years of teaching
experience. He talks about how education is not the learning of facts but the
training of the mind to think. He believes that if we incorporate 2 fundamental
things to education we can make a huge change and our students would be much
more inspired to learn than they are now. Watch the video and find out which
two things would be fundamental for him.

This would be the end of this post. I hope these two teachers help
you be a better teacher yourself, inspire you to try new methods and help you
see how important is to build a healthy relationship with your pupils. It is not enough being there, we have to
contribute to our students learning with a quality education.
Good luck, here in Teacheers we believe in you!
I hope you found some inspiration,
M.S
